Grey Sunstone, a rarer variety of Sunstone, has a soft, silvery-grey appearance with a shimmering or metallic sheen known as aventurescence. This unique look sets it apart from the more common orange or red Sunstone varieties. The stone’s subtle beauty is often linked to the moon’s calming energy, blending the vibrant qualities of Sunstone with a grounding, cooler energy.
Grey Sunstone is thought to promote clarity, especially in times of uncertainty, helping the wearer stay grounded while making clear decisions. It is also said to enhance intuition and provide balance between one’s emotional and mental states. Its calming energy encourages emotional stability and allows for the gentle release of negativity, fostering a sense of peace and inner harmony.
Grey Sunstone is primarily found in locations where Sunstone is mined, such as India, Norway, and the United States, especially in Oregon.
Akoya pearls are known for their classic beauty, often displaying a bright, mirror-like luster and perfectly round shape. Cultivated primarily from the Akoya oyster, these pearls are typically smaller in size, ranging from 5 to 9 millimeters, and come in colors like white, cream, or silver, often with pink or green overtones. Akoya pearls are highly prized in the jewelry world for their elegance and timeless appeal.
Akoya pearls are believed to symbolize purity, calm, and emotional balance. They are thought to promote sincerity, truth, and loyalty, making them a symbol of wisdom and integrity. Worn as jewelry, they are said to help one connect with their inner self, fostering personal growth and spiritual awareness. Pearls, in general, are often associated with the energy of the moon and are seen as nurturing and protective stones.
Akoya pearls are primarily found in Japan, where they are cultivated in the salt waters off the coast. Japan’s calm seas and ideal water conditions provide the perfect environment for Akoya oysters to produce high-quality pearls. Additionally, Akoya pearls are also farmed in China and Vietnam, though Japan remains the leading source of these iconic gems.
GEMS BY JAMI
Meet the Maker
Hi there! My name is Jami Schwager and I live in a small town in Northeastern Illinois named Johnsburg. We are located near the Chain of Lakes waterway and we (I am including my husband and captain of our vessel) LOVE boating on our Bayliner Cabin Cruiser in the summers! When I’m not on my boat you can usually find me making jewelry. In 2022 I decided to make birthstone bracelets with gemstones for the women in my family for Christmas gifts. I have been obsessed with making jewelry ever since! I enjoy coming up with new designs and discovering the beauty in each new gemstone I work with. Now I consider making jewelry my passion. I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I enjoy creating them. Thanks so much for checking out my shop!
