Purple Spiny Oyster is a beautiful, natural shell material known for its rich purple, reddish, and orange hues. It's sourced from the Spiny Oyster, a type of mollusk found primarily in warm waters. The shell is valued for its vibrant color and is often used in Southwestern and Native American jewelry.
Purple Spiny Oyster is believed to enhance intuition and creativity, helping individuals connect with their inner wisdom. It’s considered a grounding material, promoting emotional stability and a sense of protection. It’s also thought to foster a strong connection with the sea, enhancing one’s ability to adapt and flow with life’s changes.
The Spiny Oyster is found in the Pacific Ocean, particularly around Baja California and the Gulf of Mexico. It has been used for centuries by Native American artisans, especially in traditional jewelry-making.
Navajo Pearls are handcrafted, sterling silver beads traditionally made by Navajo artisans. Each bead is meticulously formed, soldered, filed, and polished, creating a unique, rustic aesthetic. They are often used in necklaces, bracelets, and earrings and are deeply connected to Navajo culture and craftsmanship.
Navajo Pearls are believed to carry the energy of protection and strength, symbolizing the enduring spirit of the Navajo people. The silver in the beads is thought to reflect negative energies away from the wearer, promoting inner peace and balance. Wearing Navajo Pearls is often seen as a way to stay grounded, connected to tradition, and in harmony with one’s surroundings.
GEMS BY JAMI
Meet the Maker
Hi there! My name is Jami Schwager and I live in a small town in Northeastern Illinois named Johnsburg. We are located near the Chain of Lakes waterway and we (I am including my husband and captain of our vessel) LOVE boating on our Bayliner Cabin Cruiser in the summers! When I’m not on my boat you can usually find me making jewelry. In 2022 I decided to make birthstone bracelets with gemstones for the women in my family for Christmas gifts. I have been obsessed with making jewelry ever since! I enjoy coming up with new designs and discovering the beauty in each new gemstone I work with. Now I consider making jewelry my passion. I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I enjoy creating them. Thanks so much for checking out my shop!
